June 18, 2020 Update
State Superintendent, Carmen Ayala, Shares New Infromation About SB-1569
Governor JB Pritzker signed into law today Senate Bill 1569, which includes many education provisions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please see the Governor’s press release below for highlights from the bill. Importantly, the legislation creates a Blended Remote Learning Day option to gives schools additional flexibility as they develop plans for fall.

Summer meal program begins Monday, June 15, 2020.
Summer pick-up & bus stop days will be Monday, for Mondays and Tuesday’s meals. Wednesday for Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday’s meals. (No pick-up on Friday’s)

Thank you for your support and assistance during the 2019-2020 school year. I hope that you and your family are safe and healthy. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have been adapting to the extreme changes in life during the past few months. As the school year draws to a close, I want to again thank you for allowing me to serve you and the School District 132 community. WI-FI Hotspot Map Released
Illinois state agencies released a wi-fi hotspot map today to help students across the state who lack internet access in their homes. The effort was spearheaded by the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) along with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), the Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT), the Office of the Secretary of State Illinois State Library, and the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB).

April 1, 2020 Remote Learning Days
During Remote Learning Days, beginning on March 31, 2020 and continuing through the duration of the Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation, our teachers and related service staff will be providing various web-based opportunities to our students, including students eligible for special education and related services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (“IDEA”). These web-based opportunities will be provided through virtual platforms such as Google Hangouts, Zoom, Facetime, Skype, Join.me, etc., and may include individual or group instructional, educational and/or related service sessions via live stream videoconferencing.

Internet Access Options
COVID-19 is changing the way we are all operating in the US, including businesses offering ways to stay on track with our daily communication. Our technology department mentioned earlier in the year how families can receive Internet access at a discounted rate.
Currently, Comcast, is still leading the industry with a $10.00 a month fee, which provides high speed Internet service through Comcast Essentials. In order to be eilgible for this service--
- You do not currectly have an Xfinity or Comcast accout
- No outstanding balances with Xfinity or Comcast
- The access is offered in your area

Unlimited AT&T Home Internet – All AT&T consumer home internet wireline customers, as well as Fixed Wireless Internet, can use unlimited internet data. Additionally, we will continue to offer internet access for qualifying limited income households at $10 per month through our Access from AT&T program. We’ve expanded eligibility to Access from AT&T to households participating in the National School Lunch Program and Head Start. Additionally, we’re offering new Access from AT&T customers two months of free service. (As of March 20, 2020)
