My name is Patricia Ann Carr. I have been a resident and property owner in Calumet Park, IL for the past 28 years. I previously worked for five years as a substitute teacher in School District 132. I have achieved Master Board Member recognition for service and participation in various Illinois Association of School Boards and National School Boards Association activities within a two-year timeframe. In addition, I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Chicago State University and a Master of Science in Telecommunications from Southern Methodist University. I have earned more than 30 credit hours toward a Master in Early Childhood Education from Chicago State University.
I believe that our children's educational experience is impacted by many factors such as an infrastructure that is conducive to 21st-century learning, outstanding teachers and administrators, actively involved parents, and fiscal responsibility. The combination of these factors should provide a learning atmosphere that enables our children to realize their full potential, as well as prepare them to be lifelong learners and active contributors in our global society. I also promote the relationship between our schools and the community.
Along with attending the recent National School Boards Conference and the Commission for the Study of Demographics and Diversity Conference, Ms. Carr has completed the necessary professional development including leadership training, Open Meetings Act training, and performance evaluation training, as required by law.
