SD132 School Board Members
Synathia Harris has been a resident of Calumet Park for seventeen years. She is married with three successful young adults. Ms. Harris is a strong and passionate advocate for education. Prior to becoming a board member, she served on the PTA as a secretary and served in the school as a parent coordinator.
Ms. Harris became a board member because of her commitment to educational excellence. She serves as an active informed Board member. She has also served as a voting Delegate. Ms. Harris is recognized with the highest honors of achievement by the Illinois Association of School Boards as a Master Board Member and Leadership Fellow. She is a member of CUBE, Council of Urban Boards of Education. She also serves on the national level, National Association of School Boards. She has also received several recognitions from South Suburban News. Synathia Harris has recently been voted by the board to serve as Board President for a second term.

Rhonda Kimbrough has a B.A. in Education from Roosevelt University Chicago, an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with a Reading Endorsement from Loyola University Chicago, and a Mathematics Endorsement from the University of Chicago. She has 35 years of career experience with Chicago Public Schools. She served as an elementary teacher, middle school teacher, art teacher, curriculum developer, after-school program coordinator, and reading specialist. Her final 16 years pre-retirement as a Network/Area Reading Coach. Having an infallible joy for teaching and learning, Ms. Kimbrough returned to the educational system after several months of retirement to rekindle her passion for education and served as a reading interventionist at an east-side parochial school.
As an independent contractor for the following three years, 2019-2022, she served as a Roosevelt University Balanced Literacy Middle School Consultant/Coach for the Illinois Empower grant at Dolton School District #149. She co-authored an article published in the Illinois Reading Council Journal in the Fall of 2021, led countless professional development sessions, coached teachers on Best Instructional Practices in Reading, led data conversations, and was the team lead on numerous projects. Rhonda currently serves as a board member for a nonprofit organization, Burst Into Books, that focuses on cultural literacy through education.

My name is Consuella Brown. I have lived in Calumet School District 132 for 16 years. I am a consultant who specializes in board development, retreat facilitation, executive coaching, foundation proposal review, program development, and interim staffing. I keep my intellectual muscles strong in my role as an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University’s School of Social Work and Dominican University’s Masters in Conflict Resolution Program.
I have been fortunate to serve as the Vice President for Strategy and Impact at All Chicago and as Acting President and Program Director at the Woods Fund of Chicago. I also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Marshall Islands and Lesotho and helped open the Peace Corps office in the Republic of Zambia. I have served on several committees and boards and hold a master’s degree in political science from Illinois State University and a bachelor’s degree in legal studies/women’s studies from Scripps College. I also hold a certificate in advanced spirituality from the former Institute on Spiritual Leadership. I am the proud recipient of the Chicago African Americans in Philanthropy Champion of Diversity Award and the United African Organization’s Nelson Mandela Award for Social Justice.
In my free time, I like to sleep, travel the world, and piece together colorful jigsaw puzzles. I look forward to supporting the voices and visions of the students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members of Calumet Park.

Nanette Dixon has been a resident of Calumet for 22 years. She is the proud mother of 4 sons, and is a grandmother. Ms. Dixon has worked as a Salon Owner and Cosmetologist Instructor, Technical Consultant, and Platform Artist for over 30 years. She has worked in an advising role as a consultant building business, providing product knowledge, and style techniques throughout the Midwest Chicago and South Suburban areas. Being a salon owner running the day-to-day operations has taught her the value of working both independently as a leader as well as a team.
Ms. Dixon enjoys teaching young people the art of cosmetology. She gives back to the community through her collaboration of and talent to provide makeover services to women in women's shelters. Her teamwork efforts expand into the community helping to build parks in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce in Calumet Park so that the children can have a safe place to play. Ms. Dixon looks forward to the opportunity of bringing her time, talents, leadership, and teamwork experience to serving on the Calumet Public School District 132.

Pauline Love has been a resident for 35 years and retired from the CPS system as an administrator and teacher for 31 years. Also, she has worked in Calumet Public SD132 as a substitute teacher. Ms. Love is listed in the Teacher of Teachers book in 1995. She has partnered up with Project Warm for many years, giving coats, gloves, and socks to children in the Calumet Park community.
Also, she has donated banquet dresses and shoes to 8th-grade girls. Ms. Love has also done volunteer work with the local church summer program at Unity Covenant for many years. She also volunteered her time in the community with projects sponsored by Calumet Recreational Center (building the playground). Ms. Love looks forward to being able to serve on the school board, giving our children opportunities to make them more productive citizens.
