Key Things to Know About Remote Learning
Goal:
To provide all students the opportunity to learn remotely with specific outcomes that ensure student learning, by providing each student with specific access to appropriate instructional content and materials, instructional support, and feedback from teachers and staff during the course of the remote learning school day.
- Instruction will be fully digital – There will be no photocopied materials (packets)
If materials such as phonic workbooks, etc. are needed, you will receive a scheduled date and time to pick up those materials.
- Google Classroom will be the main platform used to convey instructional materials
- Clever will be used as a single sign-in area where students can access all technology-based instructional materials. The technology department will provide sign-in instructions
- Students will be provided with a schedule of classes and times to sign-in remotely to meet with their teacher on a daily basis.
- All students must be registered by Friday, August 7, 2020
- Blended instruction will occur (teacher-led discussion + students working independently) (synchronous (with the teacher) and asynchronous (working independently without a teacher)
- Special classes will follow the normal rotation
- Assessments conducted will be the following:
- NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association)
- STARR
- AIMSWEB
- TEACHER CREATED (formative and summative assessments)
- Grading
- The board established grading scale will be used.

- Technology will be provided to every student.
- No sharing of computers unless the parent refuses to check-out a district device
- Parents will be required to sign a user agreement document
- If internet connectivity is a barrier, the district will provide home internet access

- Breakfast and Lunch
- 7:00 to 8:00 am daily at the school site
- 7:00 to 8:00 Monday and Wednesday for students who ride the bus during the normal school year
- Monday delivery will provide meals for Monday and Tuesday
- Wednesday delivery will provide meals for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
- If school is not in session, meals will not be provided for that time period (1/2 days, Holidays, Vacation, Teacher Conferences, Voting Day, etc.) We will follow the established school calendar that is provided on the website.

- Nobody wants to have students at home, but safety is our key driving force. Once we receive notice that safety is no longer a concern, we will resume in-person instruction.
