School nurses employed by the Calumet Park School District 132 Governing Board are goal-oriented.   Our efforts are in collaboration with the district to accomplish the initiatives and objectives of the school district.

In addition, school nurses will practice professional nursing toward the accomplishment of the following goals:

•  Deliver needed health services to our schools using systematic processes to assess needs, plan interventions and evaluate outcomes so that high-level wellness can be achieved by the students.

•  Manage school health care services by participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the school health program.

• Advocate for the health rights of students and their families, both within the school setting and between the school and community at large.

• Provide health counseling for each school on an individual basis or within a group setting.

• Participate in health education activities for students, District personnel and the community.

• Collaborate with school administrations, school staff, other school nurses, parents, community resources and community health care

   providers to accomplish the goals of the Calumet Park School District 132 Health Program.
